Design Goal:
Craft a custom family home design in collaboration with Damici Design that epitomizes timeless elegance, characterized by bespoke elements, intricate custom millwork, harmonious integration of mixed metals, and a sophisticated monochromatic neutral color palette. The design shall seamlessly blend contemporary furniture with refined craftsmanship, creating a space that exudes comfort, style, and enduring charm for generations to come.
Concept:
Our collaboration with Damici Design infuses the custom family home with Parisian elegance. Through delicate architectural details and curated furnishings, we evoke the timeless allure of Paris. Soft textures and subtle embellishments create a refined yet enchanting ambiance, marrying classic charm with modern comforts for a truly captivating living space.
Location:
Burnaby, located east of Vancouver in British Columbia, is a diverse and economically thriving city renowned for its technology sector, educational institutions like Simon Fraser University, and abundant natural spaces such as Burnaby Mountain and Deer Lake Park. With a rich tapestry of cultures and recreational opportunities, Burnaby offers residents and visitors a dynamic urban experience amidst stunning natural surroundings.
ENTRY TO OPEN LIVING
The entryway is unique and welcoming with a bespoke arched door and archway leading seamlessly to the kitchen, dining, and dry bar.
MAIN KITCHEN
Quartz counters and tiled walls complement the two-tone kitchen for a timeless aesthetic.
CUSTOM FEATURES
A striking plaster custom hood, reminiscent of European elegance, serves as the focal point, while the luxurious Lacanche range and Pierre and Rowe faucets add a touch of sophistication to the space.
BUTLERS PANTRY
The butler's pantry exudes French elegance with all-white cabinets and an arched opening, offering a seamless transition from the kitchen. Its cream and beige checkerboard flooring adds a touch of timeless charm.
FORMAL DINING
The dining area is anchored by an 8-person table illuminated by the warm glow of the focal lighting fixture. A custom door with a glass window creates an elegant entry to the office, while a large canvas painting depicting the beach infuses the space with a serene ambiance.
LIVING ROOM
The living room is a cozy haven filled with plush furnishings and bathed in natural light. It combines modern sophistication with timeless charm, offering a perfect space for relaxation and intimate gatherings.

The fireplace acts as a focal point and is flanked by two built-in storage benches,

The ceiling is meant to draw the eye upward while the chandelier adds character and creates a focal point.
SYMMETRY
It was important to find symmetry between the beams, ambient, and focal lighting in the space, ensuring form and function were considered.

The furniture and decor are carefully chosen to evoke a sense of comfort and relaxation in the space.
KIDS ROOM
In the kids' room, vaulted ceilings and unique rooflines create a charming atmosphere. Damici Design utilized the space efficiently by creating a custom storage cabinet, featuring a blend of open and closed storage options, alongside a cozy window seat for reading or daydreaming.

The cute floral wallpaper and wainscoting add a touch of whimsy and charm to the kids' room, infusing it with playful elegance.
